Holes 1 to 6 Guide

HOLE 1 - BRIDLE WAY

A strong opening hole with a slight dog leg left. Tee shot aimed at the marker pole will leave a mid iron to the green. (Avoid trying to be too aggressive. The hedge on the left is OOB.)

HOLE 2 - WEE BURN

A challenging Par 3 which often plays half a club longer that it appears. Avoid taking on pin on the left side of the green unless you make sure you clear the ditch comfortably.

HOLE 3 - HUG IT CORNER

Dog leg par 4 with OOB all down the left. Tee shot to middle of fairway opens up the green.

HOLE 4 - TOP O' THE HILL
Strong uphill par 4 to an elevated green. Tee shot favouring the left half of the fairway preferable.

HOLE 5 - LANE SIDE

Par 5 with OOB all down it’s left side. Risk and reward to carry fairway bunkers.

HOLE 6 - SLEEPERS CREEK

A tight tee shot requires precision. Favour left side of fairway or you will be blocked out with your second shot.

Holes 7 to 12 Guide

HOLE 7 - NARROW RETURN

Stoke index 1 demands an accurate tee shot if you plan to have a chance of hitting the green in two shots. The green is quite challenging.

HOLE 8 - CANNY APPROACH

A lovely par 5 protected with a two tier green and by a stream running immediately in front of the green. Tee shot favour right side fairway.

HOLE 9 - WELSH VIEW

The 2nd par 3 on the front 9. Picturesque with a pool on the right side of a green which slopes towards the pool. Compact green so park a respectable score.

HOLE 10 - WATERY GRAVE

This hole requires a well positioned tee shot to allow for your second shot to be positioned. Bigger hitters can take an aggressive line, but don't get your feet wet !

HOLE 11 - CLIFF VIEW

A challenging par 3. Well protected by bunkers, green slopes slightly left to right.

HOLE 12 - SWAN LAKE

A par 4 which requires an accurate tee shot to miss the water right. Bunkers left which are there to catch the ultra cautious. Water cuts in short of the green too. A quality golf hole.

Holes 13 to 18 Guide

HOLE 13 - SAHARA CORNER

Keeping out of the cluster of bunkers key. The green offers a real challenge.

HOLE 14 - BRIDGE TOO FAR

Quite a generous fairway. An aggressive line will give the bigger hitters a chance of getting home in two shots. The more modest golfers will lay up to play over the water across the approach to the green.

HOLE 15 - GULLY

Quite a long par 4. Finding the fairway key to allow an accurate shot in to the green.

HOLE 16 - WINDMILL

Relatively short hole can reward a birdie with a well struck tee shot. Don’t get stuck behind the big oak on the right by hitting tee shot too long.

HOLE 17 - MILL POND

A lovely par 3 over water with a two tier green well bunkered and out of bounds left.

HOLE 18 - ROWLAND'S HILL

A great finishing slightly up hill par 4 hole. The green is slightly elevated and often plays longer than it looks. A pin tight left requires the ultimate accuracy. Don’t miss it left.

Overall with USGA spec greens, tactically placed water hazards and some well placed bunkers, playing to your handicap is a great achievement.
