The Members of Hawkstone Park Golf Club and Visitors have the opportunity to play two of the finest 18 hole golf courses in the West Midlands (Hawkstone & Championship) and a 6-hole Academy course set in an English Heritage Grade 1 landscape.
The three courses are situated in 400 acres of undulating parkland surrounding the ruins of a medieval castle with the cliffs of the world-famous 18th Century Follies providing a spectacular backdrop. The Hawkstone course was opened in 1920 and reconfigured following the recommendations of James Braid after a visit in 1930. The Windmill course, now known as The Championship course, was opened in 1995 on the 75th anniversary of the opening of it's sister course.
The highlights of the 2013 golfing year were Ashley Chesters winning the European Amateur Championship and our past professional, Paul Wesselingh, having a stunning second year on the Seniors’ Tour and securing the Tour Title. And, in 2014 Ashley became the first amateur to successfully defend his European Amateur Championship title! There cannot be a Club in the land, possibly not even in the world, that can claim having had in its membership, an Open Champion, a Masters Champion (Sandy Lyle), a World Junior Champion (Michael Welch), a double European Amateur Champion and a Seniors Tour Championship winner! This is a history of which we are justly proud.
