LADIES' SECTION
2022 LADY CAPTAIN - MRS CHERYL GREAVES
Welcome to our 2022 golfing year ....
I am looking forward to playing golf again once the weather improves and I can get a buggy on the course. Please do put your name down with me if you see it on BRS. I am also available to answer any questions you may have or if I don’t know I will direct you to somebody who does know the answer.
When I am not on the golf course I can be found on the dance floor or completing The Ladies County Golf Association administration for which I am secretary for a second time.
I look forward to working alongside Captain Ian, husband President Dave, Seniors Captain Phil and Junior Captain Ben. If you don’t know them have a look at the rouge’s gallery on the wall opposite the stairs.
I would like to encourage new members to join in with the section whether it be playing in a friendly game of golf, competitions or just joining us initially for coffee we are a welcoming group of ladies. We all understand as we have been there when we started.
As a past junior member, it would be lovely to see a girls junior group so if you have any daughters or granddaughters who may be interested in playing, please let me know.
For those of you who are playing in teams this year I wish you luck and let's build on last years success.
Finally, I wish you all a good golfing year with lots of fun and friendship.
So lets go girls!
DOROTHY RODENHURST WINTER KNOCKOUT
Congratulations to Liz Dutton and Rachel Cope who took the trophy beating Sue Robson and Angela Gwilt in the delayed winter knockout. An up and down match - well done to you all

WHAT A CRACKER!

LADIES LESSONS
Over the past 6 weeks Golf Professional and Director of Golf Lewis Baker has run a series of ladies lessons for lady members and non-members of all abilities. They have been very well received and supported and were informative as well as fun.
HPGC has the Women in Golf Charter and we are dedicated to promoting golf to women, girls and families so please approach us if you are interested.
Lewis is now re-starting his junior lessons on a Saturday morning.
MATCHES
Matches organised by the County include scratch and handicap teams. We also play other local clubs in friendly matches, both ladies and mixed teams. Within our own club, the ladies play the Senior men and this is always a fun event. We also enter some National competitions which can test your golfing ability. There is certainly enough golf to keep you busy here at Hawkstone!
COMPETITIONS
Here at Hawkstone our Ladies Section has a very active, competitive and friendly playing membership both during the week and at weekends. Weekly competitions are held on Mondays with an alternate day of either Saturday or Sunday. Throughout the winter months, we hold weekly competitions with a more 'fun' element, playing Texas Scramble, Greensome and general roll ups. This helps maintain your swing over the winter and also still meeting lady members for an informal round. From April to October you can participate in a monthly Medal and Stableford competition. Trophy competitions are played on a Monday, with an alternate day at the weekend. Our Honours Board Trophies are presented at the Club's Annual Prize Presentation evening at the end of November.
Lady Captains Day is held in June and is one of the most popular days in our playing calendar which includes 18 holes of golf and a dinner and prize presentation in the evening. There are two Opens in May, a Ladies Texas Scramble and a Mixed Team Stableford. We also hold a Mixed Team Texas Scramble in September. Our Ladies Invitation Day is at the beginning of August and is also a popular event.
At Hawkstone we pride ourselves on having a very good relationship with the Mens section and make sure that there are lots of mixed events planned for all to join in with.
