Keith Williams Coaching Academy at Hawkstone

Former England National coach, Keith Williams, returned to his Shropshire roots to open the Keith Williams Golf Academy at Hawkstone Park. The former European Tour professional - who played alongside Sandy Lyle and Ian Woosnam - was the Club's professional between 1986 & 1995 having succeeded Alex Lyle.

Keith's role includes overseeing an improvement in facilities including an indoor coaching studio, a designated short game approach area and access to sports science and medicine expertise and advice.

Hawkstone's Golf Mark Status

Pictured is the SHUGC Chairman of Junior Golf, Charles Sievewright, presenting the Golf Mark Accreditation to the 2014 Club's Officials.

Hawkstone Park Golf Club started the 2014 golf season with a number of significant rewards to help develop the Club environment for current members and to make the new membership structure more attractive to local golfers looking to join the Club.

The Club has received the prestigious Golf-Mark & Club Mark awards from England Golf which is presented to a limited number of golf clubs throughout the country for their ability to help develop and promote the game.

In co-operation with the Keith Williams Golf Academy the Club also has achieved a Get into Golf and Disability Centre status from England Golf and was one of the first clubs in the UK to receive acclaim for delivering the new Golf Foundation junior passport scheme successfully.

Both courses are open with preferred lies in play from 27/09/2019 - viz. placing will apply on the general area cut to fairway height or less ONLY (formally known as closely mown area). The player may prefer the lie within 6 inches not nearer the hole (mark, lift, clean and replace). In other words placing is NOT ALLOWED in 'the rough.
